Beth's Page - Raising $ to Cure FSH Muscular Dystrophy!

Beth Johnston

Beth Johnston

As you may or may not know, my husband Jeff - or "JJ" (as some of us like to call him) suffers from FSH Muscular Dystrophy (FSHD). This disease has slowly been eating away at his muscles, leaving him unable to do many things he used to, like walk unassisted.

The money we're raising by participating in this Walk & Roll is supporting programs and funding research that will directly impact patients and their families living with FSHD!
Treatments are just around the corner - with your help!

About Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (or FSHD): a genetic disorder that leads to the weakening of skeletal muscles. It affects an estimated 1 in 8,000 individuals, or 870,000 people worldwide. Around 20 percent will need a wheelchair by age 50. Over 70 percent experience debilitating pain and fatigue. There is no effective treatment or cure—YET!

Thank you for your support! - Beth

p.s. Please visit the FSH Society website (fshsociety.org) to learn more about FSHD, ways to get involved, and everything that is happening!
